Anchor Hanover has appointed energy, services and regeneration specialist, ENGIE as a strategic delivery partner for the North and South, in a 10-year deal worth £80m — £40m for each respective region.
After a competitive tendering process, ENGIE secured two of the four regional contracts available — the maximum that could be appointed to one contractor — and will see the business work closely with Anchor Hanover to develop, plan and subsequently deliver annual programmes of work in line with a rolling five year investment plan.
Anchor Hanover is England’s largest provider of care and housing for older people — with 54,000 homes across 1,700 locations. This programme of works aims to prolong and enhance the condition of its housing stock, while supporting and prioritising the needs of customer’s, by ensuring residents are living in high-quality, energy efficient and sustainable housing, within a safe environment.
The scope of work will include kitchen and bathroom replacements, electrical heating replacements, internal and external repairs — including roofs, pavements and car parking; as well as replacement windows and doors among other associated works.
All work will be completed with residents in occupation and ENGIE has pledged to work openly and closely with residents throughout the duration of the project to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.

ENGIE is scheduled to commence the programme this month (April 2019).
