As the landscape shifts in terms of how specifiers access and digest relevant content from suppliers, AluK has responded with a new digital learning platform, containing everything from CPDs to case studies and blogs.
The aluminium systems house, which has built its reputation on building collaborative partnerships with specifiers, has created a new website at https://www.alukgb.com/learning/home — ideal for the current mix of working between the home and the office.
The core of the offering is AluK’s CPDs, which visitors can choose to book on individually and access as live webinars or have delivered to their practice via the company’s Projects Team, either remotely or in person. This includes the new ‘Buildings as Theatre’ CPD created to inform and inspire with what is possible in the design and construction of curtain walling.
The emphasis right across the platform is on education rather than sales and the content has all been created with the needs of the specifier very much in mind. For instance, they can access bite-sized content busting some of the myths which still surround aluminium, such as — is it cold, or is it expensive, and browse relevant case studies showing how AluK windows, doors and curtain walling systems have been specified to solve challenges or push boundaries in a range of residential and commercial applications.
Jon Sheaf, AluK’s Major Projects Manager, says the launch of AluK Learning is well timed: “Even before COVID, architects and specifiers were already asking for more short form content which they could access digitally when they had spare time on the commute or over lunch. That process has just been accelerated by the pandemic and, with the social distancing restrictions still a factor for so many, there’s a real urgency for credible sources of information like this.”
