New affordable homes for the Bishops Cleeve area of Cheltenham are starting to take shape with the first set to be available soon. Platform Housing Group is developing the 113 home site alongside Lovell Partnerships which has been named Cleeve Gardens.
A recent site tour was arranged to examine progress of the build with Platform’s Chief Operations Officer Marion Duffy alongside Lovell Partnerships Regional Operations Director, Sam Clarke.
Also present were local resident’s groups, legal partners and the local authority who were shown where the new homes would be built as well as examining plans and learning about the energy efficiency of the buildings that the new residents will benefit from.
After the tour, Marion Duffy said: “This is one of our most significant sites to date, delivering a large number of affordable homes for the local authority who we’re delighted to be working with. This site visit has been really useful to see the great progress the team at Lovell Partnerships is making and to learn more about the energy efficiency measures our customers will benefit from including solar panels.”
Sam Clarke, Regional Operations Director at Lovell Partnerships said: “Accelerating the delivery of high quality, affordable homes through key partnerships such as the one we have with Platform Housing Group is central to our mission. It’s encouraging to reach this initial milestone and for work to be starting at Cleeve Gardens, which will support the affordable housing demands in the area.”
The first homes are likely to be handed over to Platform to begin managing in the spring of next year.
