Lovell starts on site on £12m project to deliver 47 new homes in Peak District town

Construction has just got under way on The Coppice: a £12m development set to bring 47 new homes to the town of Chapel-en-le-Frith, on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Partnership housing specialist Lovell is developing the site, off Manchester Road, with 33 new homes for sale as well as 14 homes for Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, which will be available for rent and shared ownership. The overall scheme is set to be complete in autumn 2018.

Designed to complement the development’s setting in the attractive High Peak town, known as the Capital of the Peak District, the new homes will feature four one- and two-bedroom apartments and 43 three-, four- and five-bedroom houses. Robert Adams, Regional Managing Director for national developer Lovell, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing these new homes at The Coppice to Chapel-en-le-Frith. This development of well-designed homes in a superb location will provide contemporary, stylish accommodation for a range of homeseekers, including single people, couples and families.

“As well as properties for sale, there will be homes for shared ownership and rent providing urgently-needed affordable homes for people with local connections, enabling them to get their own home in this vibrant community. We’re excited to be bringing the company’s expertise in developing high-quality homes to this, our first scheme working with Peaks & Plains Housing Trust.”

Nigel Bennett, Assistant Director Partnerships for Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, added: “This opportunity to provide affordable homes on this prestigious development marks an exciting new partnership with Lovell and continues our work within High Peak. The mix and range of properties available allows real choice and options for anyone seeking a new home in Chapel-en-le-Frith.”
