The Liverpool City Region Housing Associations (LCRHA) group generated over £155m of social value across the Liverpool City Region (LCR) and reaffirms its commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of people and communities in the region.
Commissioning HACT — a national housing association consultancy — to look at how much social value the LCRHA and the 22 housing associations it comprises generate, the report shows the incredible impact the LCRHA generated in just a single year.
With the report emphasising the scale of the LCRHA’s impact, key highlights from the 2024/25 financial year include:
- £155,004,195 total social value generated by the LCRHA
- 124,754 people supported by the LCRHA
- £590,474 invested into 286 grassroots groups, helping them grow and serve their communities
- 2,577 homes retrofitted and energy efficiency improved to at least EPC C
Focusing on social value produced by activities and services ran by LCRHA members to address issues such as social isolation, access to employment and training opportunities, the cost-of-living crisis, social isolation, digital inclusion, decarbonisation and environmental issues, the report highlights how central housing associations are to tackling societal, environmental and community issues impacting households in the LCR.
Discussing the results of the HACT Report, LCRHA Chair, Claire Griffiths said: “This report is a clear demonstration of the vital role housing associations play in the Liverpool City Region. It evidences the positive impact we’re making, not only by providing safe, high-quality homes, but by improving health, wellbeing and economic resilience of our communities.
“We’ve always understood the connection between secure housing and better life outcomes. Now we have the data to show how our collective efforts are driving regional growth and social progress.
“This is a strong reflection of what we’ve achieved together so far, but it’s also just the beginning. Through continued collaboration, we’re committed to building on this impact and delivering even greater outcomes for the people of our region.”
