Procure Plus is committed to creating lasting social value by supporting projects that transform lives through meaningful opportunities.
One example is Back on Track, a Manchester-based charity that helps people facing multiple disadvantages to build confidence, gain skills, and move closer to employment or volunteering. The project is supported by Re:vision, a charitable subsidiary of Procure Plus.
Re:vision helps to deliver Procure Plus’s wider social impact goals, enabling it to support initiatives like Back on Track that offer real, long-term change.
For Bea*, her progress was hard-won. After 15 years of drug addiction, she had begun to rebuild her life, but the sudden loss of her best friend set her back significantly and her mental health plummeted.
For nearly a year, Bea barely left the house, struggled to care for herself, and became increasingly isolated from family and friends. At this time, Bea was accessing some health and social care support, but she found it difficult to remain focused on her recovery. A recommendation led Bea to Back on Track, a partner organisation supported by Re:vision.
Here, Bea enrolled in a range of courses designed to support emotional wellbeing and future goals. Psychoeducation sessions helped her understand her thought patterns and rebuild her mental resilience, while progression-focused courses prepared her for future employment.
With time and gentle encouragement from Back on Track, Bea began to reconnect. Through tailored one-to-one support and group activities, she found a safe space to process her grief, rebuild her confidence, and take the next steps on her recovery journey.
When Bea enrolled in the Introduction to the Health and Social Care Sector course, she learned about volunteer opportunities at a local housing and homelessness charity, thanks to the strong links developed through the Back on Track and Re:vision partnership.
Encouraged by her tutor and peers, within just three weeks, Bea had secured a voluntary role with the organisation.
Through compassionate support and structured opportunities, Bea has not only found a place where she feels safe but also a clear vision for her future. Volunteering has helped Bea rediscover her confidence and renew her sense of purpose.
Today, Bea feels safe, supported, and empowered. She is proud of her journey and is being encouraged to apply for paid roles at the homelessness charity in the near future.
She said: “Without coming to Back on Track, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing now: volunteering and looking to the future. It’s life-saving places like this that offer opportunities, support, and safety.”
Mike Brogan, Chief Executive of Procure Plus, commented: “At Procure Plus, we recognise the incredible power of volunteering to transform lives and communities.
“Through our charitable arm, Re:vision, we are proud to support projects like Back on Track, which uplift communities and help individuals rebuild their lives with hope and purpose.
“Volunteering offers more than just practical support — it is a transformative experience that empowers individuals, particularly those furthest from the labour market, to build up their confidence, develop new skills, and take meaningful steps towards sustainable employment.”
Bea is no longer looking back. For the first time in years, she is looking forward — and feeling ready for whatever comes next.
