After an intensive and comprehensive tender process, Caledonian has successfully retained a place on the NHS Shared Building Services (SBS) framework.
The framework is a compliant route for any central government or local authority to procure a whole range of public buildings. Whilst this is an NHS lead framework, Caledonian has successfully secured places on four lots covering the procurement of not only healthcare, but education and residential schemes as well as fully bespoke buildings with a value from £5m to in excess of £25m.
Caledonian has more than 50 years’ experience delivering permanent bespoke buildings, many to the NHS, using a volumetric offsite manufacturing approach. The company offers a full turnkey service covering all stages of design, architecture, planning, engineering and construction.
The framework agreement is initially for a two-year period but contains the potential to be extended for a further two years and replaces the current framework that has been operational since January 2017.
One of the great benefits of this framework is the built in ability to direct award projects to a single contractor, circumventing the need for time consuming individual project tendering.
Paul Lang, Chief Executive Officer at Caledonian Modular, said: “We are pleased to retain our place on the NHS SBS framework. Whilst competitive tender opportunities will arise through this framework, the real strength is the ability to develop projects with our existing clients and use this platform to procure via negotiation.”
